My Advice:  HI as someone else mentioned.

make up a weekly menu..

monday - sausages and veges

tuesday- light meal - noodles ,toasties

wednesday-  a mince dinner

thursday- steak and spuds,corn beans

friday- have anything -

saturday- salad with anything

sunday - make a lasagne

 that sort of thing...

but big bag of potatoes ,noodles, mince, sausages

u can make difference meals from mince to make it stretch or make extra and freeze

if u have children old enough they can pull out a meal and heat and eat.

Money doesnt go far at all...

kids lunchs- my kids take crackers with vegemite, sandwiches, fruit, fruit sticks, ham sticks, cheese and crackers.

u dont need to buy expensive ones.

look out for specials and if your kid/kids eat the school snacks put them away to last fortnight.

i buy cheap snakcs for home time. everything is getting more expensive.

goodluck...

Re: little advice for making food last fortnight.

Hi there,

I make up my grocery list the same way . . I sit down and plan out my weekly menu and then I buy according to this. I also allow for one or two treats for the kids and I always shop on a full tummy . . .

I have found this not only saves me time but also money . . . Great advice

Cheers Kellz
