Mothers Day something simple.

FremantleDocker by FremantleDocker Talking Back(May 6th) (rank 34th)

Hey there everyone. If you are finding it hard this year money wise, then here are some idea's on how to make a fun and cheap way to have the best day with your children, and family. This is done from previous years with my children, and it's the best way, and the most rewarding Mothers Day's i've had.

My children love doing crafty things, and every year they've always made me things from scratch and by hand, and i love those presents more than the shop bought one's.

My children have always made me hand made cards every year since they are able to put a pencil etc into their hands. They decorate the card which is only like an A4 piece of paper folded in half, and they write what they want to in their, and for the presents, they've always either picked me flowers or made something out of wood that hubby's got left overs from the project's he's done. They also looked around the shed, and outside to see what they can make for me.

I've had spice racks, cards decorated with leaves, gumnuts, bolts, nails, you name it. All the children need is an imagination, and a little help from one of the parents, and wallah, you have a cheap and easy present and card handmade, and i think that's more appreciated by the parent's this way.

Also, you don't need to do anything special that day either, and just have a small party.

Hi,

Every year I get the hand made card as well. I have kept them all. I forget most of the things that they have bought me but the cards are all in my keepsake box. We enjoy bringing them out sometimes to look at the ones they made when they were little and have a gigle.

Hi honey,

Thanks for sharing some of your tips . . Mothers Day needn't be a costly affair, just something simple and made with love will do the trick, my most treasured gift is a bracelet made from Macaroni that my eldest made me 13 yrs ago and it sits proudly in my jewel box and comes out every now and them  . .

Cheers Kellz

Hey Kellz.

No problems about sharing. I agree, mothers day doesn't have to be expensive in anyway. Just use imagination. I agree with what you've said totally.

I bet that bracelet is something to treasure for sure. Brings back good memories doesn't it? Things like that are a great idea also.
