WOMEN / MUMS of all ages, race and everything else

Kellzacar by Kellzacar Talking Back(May 8th) (rank 10th)

Hi guys,

As many of you all know Mother's Day is around the corner and to many of us this can mean different things and different traditions. Each family around the world celebrates this day in their own special way BUT this is also a day for WOMEN . . . It's a day to remember all that we have been through, the hardship the loss, the pain, the joy, the regrets and finally the dreams.

Every year when I celebrate Mother's Day I also celebrate everything that I have battled through and survived. I celebrate being a woman and a mum!! . . .

I want to share with you all a very true song . . This song was recorded in 1972 by Helen Reddy and it is a song that symbolises everything about being a woman, a mum and a survivor . . PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO LISTEN to the words as they say everything that I could possibly ever say  . This is a song that I listen to ALL the time and one you will ALL appreciate . . I hope this song is as special to you all as it is to me

So for those who are still wondering what this is all about - Its about exploring who you are?? . .It's about life and its about celebrating everything feminine . . So please all have a GREAT Mothers Day and take the time to celebrate being female and also surviving against whatever you have survived in your life no matter how big or small .

I'd also like you all to please say a prayer for all those mums that are no longer here to celebrate Mothers Day due to illness or Domestic Violence . . . .

Cheers Kellz xoxoxo

Re: WOMEN / MUMS of all ages, race and everything else

Thanks Kellz,

I am proud to be a woman, and proud of my beautiful children. I would give my life for them, and that makes me lucky. Lucky I have survived the pain of the past, and am still here to live my life, and love it.

Happy Mother's Day!  Like Helen says, "we have paid the price, but look how much we've GAINED"

We can do anything... Just watch us!

Cindy.

Great article alana, mothers day should be a celebration of all things in life that has made us unique.

A 'roar' comes from deep within, it defines us as the women we are. May we 'roar' together this mother's day.

Re: WOMEN / MUMS of all ages, race and everything else

"I am woman"... says it all really. I have surivived much: moving to a new town every 6 mths as a young child, being sexually abused when i was 4, my parents divorcing, being a single mum of three , being married twice: first to a naval copper then to a high school teacher/counsellor that committed marital rape and got away with it: being beside his bed and watching my grandfather die, assisting my mum through paliative radiotherapy for cancer ,seeing my sons go off the rails, watching one of them become a druggie.

But you know what, except for the marriages and sexual abuse, I probably wouldnt change a thing. Because it has all made me who I am today, I guess even the abuse has done that too. But with the help of family and great female friends (OzBinky being one of them) I have not only survived but I am content. My druggie son has straightened out and has a great job, my other son is in the Army and loving it, I am single, free and woohoo.................... I AM WOMAN -------- HEAR ME ROAR!!!!!!!

All Mothers should be proud, we who always give so much of ourselves to others and so little to ourselves, take time out and celebrate and enjoy who we are!!!!!

Re: WOMEN / MUMS of all ages, race and everything else

Hi there,

WOW - you have been through so much and yet you SURVIVE . .  YES YOU ARE WOMAN . . . . and I can hear YOU ROAR . .  Well done to you!

Like you I have been through some things and as I look back I can see how my past has made me who I am today and even through it was often a struggle I wouldn't change it as I am very content with who I am today . .

WE ARE WOMEN - HEAR US ROAR . .

Cheers Kellz

I taught this song to my two older girls when they were very young. Sami was 3 and would stand on the table and sing it all the time, to any audience.LOL

It hasn't dated at all, it's still a classic!!
