My Nappy Rash Remedy NO MORE EXPENSIVE CREAMS!

natelz1 by natelz1 Talking Back(May 25th) (rank 81st)

The first time my son got Nappy rash was when he was about 4 months old. I had no idea what to do so i left it to heal on its own. the next nappy i was shocked to discover his bottom was bleeding something horrific! I decided i was

taking him to the hospital so i rang my mum to ask her to take me. She came over to have a look, and told me that when my younger sister was a baby she also had nappy rash that bleed so much they rushed her to the hospital. The nurse stripped her bottom off and applied this remedy on her bottom and they saw results within half an hour. So i did the same for my son and the results were fast and effective.

So, here's my remedy,

*Two teaspoons of BICARB SODA (aka baking soda)

One cup of warm water

Dissolve Bicarb soda in warm water and dribble on babies bottom to cover whole of affected area plus a centimeter (minimum) around.

If possible, allow to air dry before applying a nappy. Otherwise apply nappy   but dont completely dry the skin as the water needs to soak in. But dont have the nappy get sopping wet either.

**Otherwise, in a bath (assuming you use a babies bath) dilute 1-2 Tablespoons in the water, but only add AFTER you have cleaned babies face and hair. And pat bottom gently when Drying.

Repeat until bottom looks clear, and although not necessary, once bottom is looking better i would apply some paw paw cream or vaseline to give the bottom some barrier.

*****Do NOT use baby wipes, use a warm soft flannel to clean bottom. Only use baby wipes again AFTER affected area is gone. Even scent free and chemical free baby wipes aren't good. What i would do, though its gross, is just put baby in a bath and let the water wash the poo off.

*****ALSO>>>>>> Please do not use as a paste, or just sprinkle it on the bottom. I made this mistake once and My baby screamed i thought i was really hurting  her. It stings them some thing chronic!!!! ALWAYS DILUTE!!!!!!!!!

I will NEVER use anything else. the other creams are good, but they can take a  while (in my experience) this is fast, and effective, and best of all CHEAP!!!!!!!!

I really hope this helps some people.Actually i know it will help anyone who trys it

  Good luck xxxx

Re: My Nappy Rash Remedy NO MORE EXPENSIVE CREAMS!

thanks for reading! And dont worry about the sprinkle on, i assumed the same, and thought it would work faster, but it hurts them.. I was really skeptical when my mum told me lol, but i would never get anything else, and its so easy to get as well, just from the supermarket!!

Re: My Nappy Rash Remedy NO MORE EXPENSIVE CREAMS!

Good Advice,

I've been lucky that bubs had never really had nappy rash, just a red bottom every now again and we apply cream to it.

If he every gets nappy rash bad then I will remember your remedy!

Thanks - Angie

Re: My Nappy Rash Remedy NO MORE EXPENSIVE CREAMS!

good advice hunni. It's a remedy i have NEVER heard of until now. I will keep it in the back of my mind incase ethans nappy cream doesn't work - so far i have been lucky with him and not one rash has appeared! My nan also swears by amolin cream - this works wonders with chafing, nappy rash and minor burns and grazes etc.

Thanks for sharing your miraculous solution with us!
