Shallow breathes

Re: Shallow breathes
Asked by Amerlinwinga

Question:

Katherine has been really sick. I have taken her to the doctors this morning and have given me Amoxil for the tonsils and some PredMix for her asthma.

She is still breathing really rapid

and very short.... Have vapouriser  in the room.

Does anyone have anymore suggestions to ease her breathing.....?????

She hasn't gone blue around the mouth yet but am aware it might happen....

Please any hints will be great.

Hugs Tee

My Advice: Self diagnosis can lead to serious consequences. If in doubt return to your Dr,  local Emergency Centre ( one that specializes in kids) or the Nurse help line .

They usually are happy to supply you with advice on when to call for emergency assistance/ treatments.  A child will be distressed, progress to drowsy (etc, ect) so If you have not had a Dr who is able to give you the complete advice then you need more.

I'm sure all is fine but for the best advice on breathing difficulties see those who diagnose with a stethoscope and have a heap of letters behind their name. I know the Childrens Hospital in Melbourne is fantastic and are very used to giving info for worried Mum's. I have also been given written info which has been  fantastic because it gives you a chance to process and understand the info that has been discussed. Most places can supply you with something as I know my local Dr prints off info from the children's Hospital when we visit.

Yes, self diagnosis is dangerous, however in this case, Amerlinwinga had already been to the Doctor and was just seeking further tips to aid with breathing and Katherine's overall well being and comfort.
