28 weeks

Up until now, your baby has been developing his organs and this is the growth that has occurred thus far. Now fat stores will begin to be laid on in preparation for birth. The skin will appear less wrinkly as the layers of fat appear.

Your baby weighs just

over a kilogram and measures from head to toe about  38cms. In the third trimester you are likely  to put on 5 kgs. You may find you retain water and your ankles in particular become puffy. If it becomes extreme see a health professional. Take rest and put your feet up.

Your baby can distinguish light and may turn to the brightness for example if you go outside when its sunny.

As well as developing fat, baby will also be developing fingernails.

You may be starting to think about the labour and birth. Try not to fear. Birth is different for every women and even in every birth. If it helps read other's birth experiences but keep an open mind. Even more importantly think about life after the birth. It can be a time of bonding, adapting and transition in the life of your new family.

Re: 28 weeks

Informative and clear yet still brief and to the point.  Isn't it incredible how just a few days can mean so much difference in development!

Peace
