Reward Charts for the kids
Making a reward chart with the kids is easy. It also can be a lot of fun.
Depending on what you are going for depends on how you do it. If you are very creative do one from scratch.
Or you can download some. I used this site
http://www.bubhub.com.au/rewardcharts.php to download the 2 I used but as my kids get older i will do them from scratch. They also can help
Realistic goals and rewards are better than expecting too much from a child. I have 5 chorus and they to me are very realistic. 1 is hang your school bag on your hook and put your shoes in the box under it. Dishes in the dishwasher and clothes in the laundry. One you have the chorus outlined you can work with your child about positive rewards and they don’t have to cost a thing. We have rewards for each choir. 1 is going to the park for an hour.
If you work with your child on this they are more inclined to do these jobs and help you about the house. My kid’s school rewards reading and we have a bears club so we always read and i reward my kids when they reach the milestones with that. This encourages the kids to read to.
My advice for reward charts is to make an A4 page with the jobs and pretty it up with pics and stickers. Now I know you can buy them but I made mine for about $3 each rather than $10-$20 each. I make the page and Laminate them. Once pages are laminated (if you don’t have one you can use clear book wrap (contact) to wrap the page, it does the same thing. But white board markers rub off on laminated pages (I thank my son’s teachers for this)
Put the finished page where it is visible and get the child to mark off the days they do as it is even more of an incentive to them.
