Infant CPR and first aid

thegreenman by thegreenman Crawling(March 2006) (rank 500+)
My wife, mother-in-law, sister-in law, and I took the infant CPR class and I found it to be very worthwhile. It made us much more comfortable knowing what to do and what NOT to do in case of emergency. I would definitely reccommend it to all new parents. My mother-in-law is
a retired registered nurse and she found it very helpful as well.

More content
It would be great if you could add more content to this article and maybe a photo. Maybe some content around the procedure that is recommended to give an insight for some parents that are trying to decide if they should attend.

Choking hazards
My little girl (15 months) has choked a number of times on various foods. Not seriously, but enough to give us a scare for the 2-3 seconds she appears to be gagging.

Does the CPR course handle situations like this? (not just drowning)

Re: Choking hazards
Yes it does. It covers food stuck in infant's throats.

CPR - agree
Yes we also did infant CPR - it is important as a few things are slightly different for infants.

Hopefully we will never have to use it.

We also were given a little card with the routine... great to put in your wallet.
