Making Art things with your kids #8 - Glass Paintings

Rukia by Rukia Speaking(July 10th) (rank 500+)

Glass paintings.

This is so simple and a easy way to transform your childs room. This is a common practice at day care centres and schools.

The tools are simple:

  • A perminate texter/marker
  • Acrilic paints in many colours
  • Paint brush(s)
  • Colouring in pages
  • masking tape
  • water
  • mineral turps

Clean the window very well. dry with newspaper. do this on both sides of the window.

Mask the pictures to the OUTSIDE of the window so you can see the picture from the inside.

Using the Perminate marker (any colour is fine, you could you different colours if you want) and trace the picture on the window. (dont stress that it is a perminate marker as it comes off glass with turps or a blade)

The paint your heart out. Put as many pics as you want on the windows. the lighter you do the paint it becomes a sun catcher type affect where the walls will be of that colour from the sun shining through.

TO CLEAN OFF. use warm water and wash the paint away. you will want to use a old towle or similar to put on the windowsil incase the paint seeps down. for the perminate marker use turps to clean off. if that doesnt work a blade will. this will not wreak the glass in any way.

Have fun

Rukia

Sounds like a fun idea.

Might have to give it a try when the weather gets a bit warmer!
