self-help timing labour contractions

yummymumy207 by yummymumy207 Speaking(July 12th) (rank 500+)

in the last few weeks i have noticed a few people asking about contructions
timing etc
so i thought i would write some quick pointers (advice) on making timing contructions easier
from my own experiece what worked really well and what didnt work so well

ok you

all know it can be hard write and time our contractions especialy with life, pain etc
my friend, midwife etc told me to try and write down timing etc on a notepad with a clock but
but i found tryin to write and time my contractions on a piece of papper with a clock
didnt work well with me or for me

heres a rough time of when labour begins to my understading. contractions are short in length, around 20 to 30 seconds long.
As labour progresses, contractions become gradually longer and stronger.
Contractions might need to be around 60 seconds long to dilate or open the cervix.
Labour contractions can last up to 90 seconds

so one day i had enough after no sleep etc i did a google search and type in online selfhelp timing labour contractions
it came up with heaps of different sites some really usefull
others they were suggesting the old notepad pen and clock

i worked through the big search list of web sites:

i found a few different ones where you click your mouse or press your spacebar
i slowly narrowed it down to 3 different sites that i really highly reccomend if your anything like me:
