31-32 weeks

mcm by mcm Young Parent(July 2008) (rank 5th)

Now baby will start to store his own nutrients for infancy after birth. Iron is one and DHA (fatty acids) is another. Iron helps with growth and DHA for brain growth and development. Your diet should be high in iron, vitamin C and fatty acids so you wont be low.

Baby weighs around 1800 grams and measures 28cm from bottom to head. Baby should still have room to move around though you may feel stretched. I haven't felt I am at my limit yet thank goodness. This baby is very active and loves to use all the room he has spare. Baby may be reaching your ribs. Your balance may have altered as baby has gotten higher and your belly has changed shape. Consider wearing comfortable flat shoes. I always do, as my balance is never great!.

Backache may become a problem as you become heavier and the muscles are more relaxed. Good posture as well as gentle exercise may help. I have been lucky in this pregnancy so far to only have mild lower backache. I find having showers and bathes helps as well as using my husbad as support when I sleep! You may choose to use a body pillow. I also plan to go swimming and take aqua classes.

Gentle exercise is advisable and recommended. Just take it easy and take care of yourself and baby. :)

Re: 31-32 weeks

Gentle exercise is a wonderful thing to do, but I think when I got to this stage of mine that was the last thing on my mind!!!  I am so terribly lazy.

Peace

It is also great to note that should a baby be born at this time, though it is enough to worry any mother, that baby will do just fine.

At this point of both my pregnancy, I was already waddling like a duck with both my pregnancies.

Thanks for sharing that. Something for me to look forward too in the future.
