33-34 weeks

mcm by mcm Young Parent(August 2008) (rank 3rd)

Your baby will be about 2.5kgs and measure 30cm in length from head to bottom. The next few weeks will be a time for your baby to build up layers of fat. Also bones will become stronger so remember to kep up your calcium intake. I found with my eldest

son in particular that he was taking from my teeth. I had a lot of sleepless nights with toothaches.

Your baby will now be developing reflexes which help with survival. One of which is suckling which helps with feeding. A startle reflex is also common.

You may get restless legs and cramps in your calves at night. Not fun at all. It may help to have less heavy blankets so you move freely and also to stretch your feet upwards. I have had the cramps in my teens and in each pregnancy. This pregnancy I have it threatened a few times but managed to avoid the actual cramps. (Yay!)

You may start to nest which is in preparation for the new arrival. It may involve cleaning, tidying, shopping or full scale renovations! For me its buying, making things for baby. Hopefully soon I can start to organise more for the bub such as the clothes and room. Though its hard as we have to move soon.

Not long to go now!

Re: 33-34 weeks

Good tips!  Can't believe how quickly the time has gone - are you really almost due?  Wow!  For me 34 weeks was when I started to really realise baby was coming - my first was born a few weeks early and was 2.4kg, so from this point on you know it could be anytime!  It is so exciting to be almost there and the impatience starts building - so long as everything is ready, this is a very exciting time!

Exciting time for sure!

I am over 36weeks now. I usually go over though so at least another few weeks yet. Not yet prepared but getting there.
