So yes, I do realise that this may sound like something silly to put in the advice section. It's not so much advice, but more..... lets say "fun baby fitness".
During my mothers group session each Wednesday, I would hear alot of the old "I dont have
time to work out" or "I'm so sick of my baby belly". So I shared with them my 20 minute work out I do that includes my daughter and we both have fun. They thought it was hillarious so I may as well share with minti.
First I will run through the high chair squat. I use a high chair that is one wheels, but can be done with one that doesn't. I hold onto the arms or feeding tray and start pushing it back and forward. As it goes back, i squat and forward, pull myself back up. My daughter thinks it sooooo funny playing peek-a-boo as we go along and it has ever gotten her to sleep on occasions!
Second, the simple push up. I do this during Abbi's tummy time. It got her to learn great head streght from an early age because she wanted to see where i was going and would follow me up and down and up and down. THe older she got, I would move away more and this is what started her crawling. She couldn't wait to catch me and pull my hair each time it reached the ground. Which was good for me as it made me go that little bit faster.
Third is the sit ups. Simple again and yes may seem very obvious. As Abbi started to sit by herself, I would sit her between my ankles and start doing sit ups. Once again we made games like peek-a-boo or each time I came up, i would clap my hands. Abbi now claps her hands, a bit wonky but gives it a go. She also learnt how to pull herself up by this exersise. SHe would either grab my pant legs or i would lower my knees and she would pull her self up and belly flop on mine.
I also do a fair bit of walking and dancing like a maniac around the house (very intertaining for abbi).
I dont no if it will do any use to other minti users but I thought i might share.
Cheers,
Happy-mum.
