mothers and prem babies

britrocks by britrocks Standing(October 2008) (rank 500+)

both my last pregnancies resulted in my children premature and i want to let mothers know that are in this situation that it is a long and tiring process with constant trips to the hospital but it willl hopefully turn out good and the other thing the hospital wants parents

to be involved as much as possible but in some circumstances this is not possible because the child is so small it has to be put in a humidity crib, but you nurses still want you to be there to talk to your baby and to touch, the nurse are always very busy and sem to take on your babyb as there own so always remember that they are there to look after your child and that if anything happens they will try their best to take care of your child and try to help you throyugh this trying time

Re: mothers and prem babies

It's hard to see your baby lying there and crying and not being able to hold them.I had a degree of depression with my 3rd also as he was born at 27 weeks and i never really bonded with himbecause of the prematuraty i had a 4 month stint 500 km's away from home and my other 2 babies,he only come out with chronic lung disease and was on oxygen 6 months after leaving neonatal nursery. he's fine now he's a healthy 6yo and shows no signs of the cld.
