Kids and Science

wildrose by wildrose Young Parent(August 2006) (rank 35th)
We have been taking our kids to some zoo, some playground, and some pools. Have you thinking to take your kids to science museum? Why not? Are you thinking that they are too young? Have a try!

My family is a member of one of science museum in Australia
and it says that we could visit for FREE to 200 others science centre and museum world wide. The kids (I have 5 years old and 20 months old) love to go there.

I think this place not only for family recreation but also as learning place. For example, since I took my son to Scitech, he loves to know more about planets. Once you purchase a ticket to get in to Scitech, you are allowed to have a look all the exhibition inside (which normally changed every 3 months). Inside the scitech ground there were kids playground (for under 6 years old), science show, puppet show, eating area. And you are allowed to get in to the Planetarium which has 3 different show (showing in 3 different times; 45 minutes each).

Some place I knew, they also provide some activities for kids. I think it's good to let your young children to learn about science. Isn't it part of our life too?

Science Museum
I took my boys out last week to London and we went to the Natural History Museum and then onto the Science Museum, we had a fantastic day, like you said it was all free entertainment.
The boys loved it and spent most of the day wondering around with their jaws dropped in wonder, it was so lovely watching their reaction.
They learnt more by seeing things in action then just studying from a book as well which is the added bonus

Science Museum
I checked the website of UK Science Museum and Natural History Museum, they look really good. Wish we could so much like that. We only have small bit of it, but still pretty good rather than not having it at all.

Great idea.
My husband and I are both science lovers. I'm more of a biology/phsiology person and my husband is a hard science (math, physics). Not only will our little one enjoy this, but us as well!
