my mantra

hollie8452 by hollie8452 Standing(October 2008) (rank 500+)

there are days (i'm sure you all know) like today for instance when my 3 year old and one year old are just insane. everything you say or do (including ignoring them) causes a tantrum, things are thrown, and broken, and the house is a demolition site. on days like

today i have only one thing that gets me through.

THID DOES NOT LAST FOREVER! THEY GROW UP!

i have it written on a huge piece of paper in my office/hideaway and on days when everything is chaos i look at that piece of paper for a good minute or (yes the kids are pulling on both my arms, but i try to block it out). after reading and repeating it to myself i seem to take on a new perspective of the situation. i think that this is one of the very few precious days i have with my girls whilst they are young enough to think that i am the whole world. i moight as well enjoy it, tantrums and all.

Re: my mantra

Hi there,

Our children do grow up so very fast and its important to parents to enjoy asmuch of thier childhood as we can but at the same time we have to find the balance between being a parent and a friend . .

Cheers Kellz

Re: my mantra

It's too easy to fire up with anger; great advice to take yourself away to your own retreat.
