Re: dry red skin

Question:

my 14mth old son has dry red skin all over him is this ecxma i dont know. i am curently using sorbeline cream but as soon as i am finishined puting it all over

him he still needs more what can i use to stop his skin from being so dry

My Advice:

as a paediatric nurse, and mother of 3 (one of whom has eczema) i would recommend a trip to your gp.  it sounds like your son probably needs a prescription for a steroid based cream such as elecon.  some children require hospitalisation for a treatment involving various creams and wet wraps.  continue to use the sorbeline.  if it is very itchy, try an antihistamine such as phenergen.  good luck. xx josierm
