Foods that affect breastfeeding question again

Hi
Thanks for those that answered my previous question about foods that affect breastfeeding.
I was wondering now, how long does it take for certain foods to affect your breastmilk and then pass out of it? Doesit happen immediately once your eat something and do you have to wait at least so many minutes before it is passed onto baby?

My 5 year old daughter has asthma. What is side effect of using asthma preventer for long term?

My 5 year old daughter has asthma. I heard that using preventer for years might cause bone shrinkage. Is it true? She's been using preventer for more than a year now. Doctor suggested 2 puffs twice a day every day. But for the last few months I only give her one puff at night only.. because I heard the bone might shrink in the future due to long term use of the preventer. Is that true? How about ventolin inhaler or nebulizer? Is there any long term side effect too? I only give my daughter nebulizer if she really coughs a lot. Thanks for any help!

My three month old

My three month old E'va is sleeping very strangely and isnt eating properly.
She's sleeping lots but at ridiculous times which is making life rather hectic and a little stressful for me.
I dont think its teething cause she's not crying out in pain, unless she's eaten something and i cant get her to burp.
But i give her panadol when that happens and she settles fine but then just goes back to sleep. She's supposed to be drinking 180 mls but will only take half of it - if im really lucky.
Last feed she only took 30 ML !!
She seems rather happy when she's awake though and smiles and everything.. I dont think she has a temperature or anything either..
What on earth do i do? Has anyone had this before?

What to do with my 13yr old

My daughter has been lying and decieving me (read my blog for the last update as it's too long to write for Q) but basicially she has a friend who I believe is influencing this negative behaviour for own reasons. I have grounded for the rest of the yr and I have taken her electronics away until she earns back my trust. They will not be attending the same High schools next year. How do I get her see how her behaviour afeects everyone else. I was worried sick as I was not able to contact her yesterday and no idea when or if she was comming home or if something had happened to her. I can barely speak to her because I'm so angry and hurt by her actions. I had no idea of the things that were happening at the friends house there was no adult supervision and goodness knows what they were getting up to.
I don't know what to do.

Snake as pet

My 11 year old daughter has been begging me to get her a pet snake for Christmas. She loves reptiles and has been asking for one for quite some time. Does anyone have a pet snake, any advice would be appreciated. I have looked a few and the price is not too bad but it seems the complete set up to keep a reptile can get quite costly. I would love to know what sort of care they need and if they are a smelly animal to keep in the house, and if they are a good pet with toddlers in the house, any other information on keeping them as pets would also be greatly appreciated.

Chances of getting pregnant so soon...

Hi
Just wondering when do you start ovalating again and the chances of getting pregnant straight after having a baby? Im fully breastfeeding and only had baby 2 weeks ago. Im only bleeding lightly or barely at all now and my stitches have pretty much healed quickly, so hubby and i decided to do it. We have done it twice already with no protection. Though i have not had a chance yet to go get a prescription for the mini pill from the doctor, am planning to call today to see if he can write me a prescription so i can just go pick it up. But i just recently heard you are more fertile after birht and chances of getting pregnant again straigh away is high. Is that true? as i didnt know that...

Christmas recipes kids can make

Does anyone know of any easy Christmas recipes that kids can make with just a little assistance, mostly just supervision? DD's convinced she's old enough to bake herself, the only thing she thinks she needs help with is turning the oven on, putting the tray in and taking the tray out. She's certain she can make things with very little help, just with me watching her.

They have to take a plate of morning tea food to school on Friday to share, and again the following Monday and on Tuesday they are asked to take something to share for lunch, and I don't know what to make for lunch that she can do easily. Thanks :)

17 yrs old - how can i help him

from raleigh, nc. i have a question regarding a 17yo young man that once dated my daughter. he is in a very trouble household - unofficially adopted by his aunt at as a toddler. when he dated my daughter and got to kno me he 'clung' to me and it was apparent that he was extremly unhappy at home. he doesnt open up but after speakin with his aunt/mom i saw that he had every right to be miserable. from my 1st convo with her i saw that she really didnt like this kid. she had nothing but negative things to say about him. eventually i made some call to try and get intervention but that obviously didnt go well. soon she forbid him to see me or my daughter and immediately i saw a rapid decline in his behavior - he is now known at school as a pot-head and fake blood gang member, failing his classes and no longer friends with his old friends but has taken up with the worst element ever. recently his paternal grandmom in boston, ma 'found' me and contacted me in hopes that i may be able to help her get in contact with him. we have both along with her family been sending him msgs on his facebook but he wont respond. my question is... i see a young man that is so hungry for love and he has turned to the worst possible place to get it. both me and his paternal family want him and want to rescue him. what can be done other than sitting back and watching another young man fall to the waste side or wind up a sad statistic?

inappropriate touching

My son is 11 years old and in the 5th grade. Starting at the beginning of the year, I have had phone calls from his principal saying that there are other boys who have reported that my son has touched them inappropriately (grabbing their butts, trying to smack them in their privates). After a meeting with the principal and having the complaints read to me, I realized that these particular boys making the claims are ones who have been bullying my son for a while now, calling him "faggot" and such. I came to the conclusion that it was probably just another form of bullying, seeing as the complaints were word for word the same, almost as if the kids got together and decided exactly what to say. Yesterday his teacher called and said that he had been caught touching another boy. Her suggestion was to show him a "boys growing up" video in hopes that he would maybe grasp inappropriate touch, but I just don't know. He does other things such as wet the bed, not only at night, pee his pants, pee all over his bedroom, poop in his pants and then in his floor. I have a suspicion that maybe there is or has been sexual abuse, but he denies it. When asked why he does the things he does he just says "I don't know". Since the behavior at school is only with boys, does this mean that he is having homosexual tendencies? Please help me if you can, because the school is talking sexual harassment and this is putting such a strain on my marriage that I don't know how much longer we can hold out. My son's step dad thinks that we need to punish him, I think that we need to try to get to the cause before we can really discipline him. Please help.
