how much would u buy second hand clothes for

I am selling lots and lots of second hand kids clothes at a local market in two weeks and not sure how much to charge. The clothes are in very good condition no stains or tears. I wont sell anything that i wouldn't put on my own children. Some of the kids shoes are nearly brand new. I not sure how much to charge so any ideas would help. thanks

A handy hint is to sell them in bulk lots.  We have always bought kids clothing in bulk lots from ebay or oztion.  The postage through those places is cheaper when items are in bulk.

if you are setting up a stall just to sell kids clothing, i'd say you would be wasting your money.  The amount you pay for the stall will not be the same as you are expecting to make off clothes.

Re: how much would u buy second hand clothes for

shirts $2-$5

Pants $2-$5

outfits $5-$10

shoes $5-$10

this is what i charge for my sons clothes.

depends on the quailty of the clothes depends on the price. if you paid say $40 for a outfit then charge say $15-$20 for it that way your still making a profit on the really good clothes. most of my sons clothes i only pay $30 for a set so ill sell it for $10-$15 for it.

hope this helps

Re: how much would u buy second hand clothes for

I think that maybe you'll get a dollar or two per item, like someone else said.  There is usually a lot of clothes at these markets, so you generally can't charge a lot.  Shoes you might get 5 for them etc.

Have you tried selling them on ebay, I generally sell my kids secondhand stuff on there, the good stuff, and find that it goes quite well.  Especailly if you have brand names, ie your punpkin patch, osh kobsh, things like that.

Good luck, I hope it all goes well.

Re: how much would u buy second hand clothes for

If you are able to get along to this or similar markets before hand, it would pay to see what the competition charges. Or charity shops, as Marg suggests. Another possibility is that most of us do ebay these days - worth using it as a guide, though take postage into account. In charity shops here I would expect to pay £3 or £4 for adult clothes and a little less for childrens, depending on make and condition.

Hope that helps!

Wish I could help you there but here used clothing for kiddies goes for a dollar or two a piece unless it is a coat that gets 5 to 6 dollars.  if you have second hand shops in your area maybe you could get an idea of pricing there! Best of luck.
