Re: C Section Experiences

I've had 3!!!

My first was an emergency and the second and third electives. My first being an emergency was a bit of a blur but recovered really well and second I didn't really enjoy - found it a bit freaky but recovered really well. Third time round REALLY enjoyed the experience as I knew what it was going to be like - it was a fantastic birth experience and this baby was healthy so got to feed straightaway. Third recovery sucked though - took waaaayy longer than the others about 6-8 weeks before I felt "normal".

hi there, c - sections well ive had 3 of them, and ive had 2 natural births, give me a c - section any day, the pain of natural birth was agony  for me compared to a c - section.i didnt have any bad experiences with my c - sections. my recoveries were slower compared to natural births but worth it.

Re: C Section Experiences

Good day there. I have a experience on that one. I had to get an emergency c-section after being in labour for 15 hours, my son went into fetal distress and they had to to the op. For me it was traumatic because it wasnt in my birthplan but it was the best in the end (i couldve lost my son).

it was painful, but only a day after the op. to best recover try this band you get to wrap around your waist it acts as support to keep it all together and not moving around too much. if you have someone to help you out with baby the first few days that is great. moving around is uncomfy and could be painful so the someone to help is really good...

goodluck

Re: C Section Experiences

I had an emergency c-section 19 yrs ago.I remember that the operation was no drama and still able to see and hold my baby before she was whisked away to special care nursery. The recovery time was painful but I was fine if I rested.Five days in hospital and then back home.Couldn't  lift anything heavy  but  just be sensible about what  you can and cant do and muster up support for yourself at home during your recovery time and you should be fine.By the way dont believe that once you have one c-section your subsequent births must be c-sections.I went on to have four more beautiful healthy babies naturally. The only difference I see is that with a c-section your 'pains' come later, with a natural birth you experience the labour pains during delivery and then its over.Either way you end up with your little gift from heaven.

Re: C Section Experiences

I've had 2, and will have another in January 2010! Mine were great. I got up and walked a lot that first 12 hours (as soon as the meds wear off and the drs let you). The more I walked (short distances many times a day) the better I felt.

I was sore for about 2 weeks (nothing unbearable) but felt fine with both within 2 weeks (like back to normal). You will have restrictions (like not lifting more than the baby's weight) and you really need to follow that. But other than that, I have no real complaints.
