Wii?

Does anyone have a Nintendo Wii? Are they worth the money?

We already have a playstation that we use maybe every 6 months, if that....

I have been thinking about getting a Wii + Wii fit for christmas for the family to use on wet days (tassie here) but I don't want to waste the cash on another dust collector unless they are worth it?

Re: Wii?

I would say it was the best investment  for the family. We all love it because it is so phisical with all the moving and jumping and all that. we have 2 controlers and 2 nunchucks so far planing to buy 1 more so me my husband and son can play at the same time. We have so much fun playing games and the price of the games is ok for 25 you can get a good game.

Re: Wii?

Wii rocks!

Wii fit is really really fun. If you're looking for a more grown up type workout thing, you should get Wii Active also. It gives you a 30 day work out that uses resistance bands, and honestly, even tho I go to the gym quite frequently, I was sore after I used it the first time!

Re: Wii?

my family has had the wii for a little more than a year and as far as something the whole family would enjoy, it's definitely that. Even my son at 3 could play the bowling, etc. He is 4 now and the games are much easier for him to do now. Also, it's a great party thing. Instead of sitting around talking and eating, you can eat and talk and watch each other make fool of yourselves. :)

I just bought the wii fit a couple of months ago and my son and I love it. I love the yoga. I have never seen the appeal of yoga but after doing it, it's pretty cool. You definitely get a good stretch and will know and feel if you're stiff. My son loves the balance games!

If you are a gamer who wants to sit in front of the TV for hours by yourself, the Wii is not for this. But if you want most of your family involved, it's great!

Re: Wii?

I'm of the opinion that, if you can afford it, the Wii is probably one of the best of the consoles around. Rather than sitting on bottom and exercising fingers, Wii encourages physical exercise. I won one in a competition a few months ago and, whilst I haven't used it yet, I have some games on laybay at the moment and am hugely looking forward to using it. Whilst on the subject, if anyone out there can tell me whether or not a two year old may get any benefit out of it, and from what game(s), I'd love to know.

Re: Wii?

Hi there,

We got the family a nintendo wii for xmas last year, I live in Victoria, so we have the rainy day problems here aswell :P. I personally dont play it much, I have a few times and it was fun but video games dont really interest me... My kids also had a playstation, I can pretty much say that the wii is being used alot more than they did with the playstation, is alot more fun for them.. Mostly the problem we have had with it is getting 9 children to SHARE the wii and take in turns etc LOL.. Happy shopping.

Cheers from Mel xx

They love it and use it lots, You ask Helen, they still liove their outdoor sports but use it when they are indoors more than watching T.V. There are so many games you can buy too (when they have some money ) They are 15yrs. and 12yrs old
