Here's something to confuse you all

Right this one will take me a bit but please bare with me. I am 9 weeks 1 day pregnant after having a bub 6 months ago... ummm.. wont say anything else bout that. Anyway, for 2 weeks I had heavy bleeding, small clots and 1 really big clot. The bleeding stopped over a week ago. My hcg levels did not double over two consecutive tests. They have scanned me twice and can not find the source of the bleeding and everything appears to be normal. Except for a few things... currently I have all my usual pmt symptoms and my period would be due within the next week.. I really have not had any symptoms of being pregnant. Slight morning sickness but that really happened when i was bleeding. With both of my previous pregnancies I had severly sore boobs, morning sickness you name it.... Now I dont 'feel' pregnant and call it womens intution but I know somethings wrong.. something just doesnt feel right.

Anyone else been through this?? I feel like I'm going insane!!!!

Thanking one and all,

fi xoxoxo

Hi Fi, here's what happened to me... I swear, I bled so much that I have no idea how Jaydee managed to 'hang in there' at the very beginning, (especially at around 6-7weeks), however you know he is very much a big bouncy healthy boy.  BTW, congratulations & best of luck with this pregnancy - Lui.

Re: Here's something to confuse you all

hi,

i have been through something very similer i started bleeding while i was in the early stages of pregnanacy, it was a blood clot outside of the placenta. talk to your obstration as they dont always look outside the placenta in the scans ask them to look just in case, im not saying that you have this prob but it wouldnt hurt for them to check. by the way i have a healthy 6 year old son so it can work out for you...

It might just be taking longer for your body to accept you are pregnant, which happens.  Could be an indicator of a boy, because I've been told the symptoms aren't as bad, but that's just one quacks opinion (well, Goose, any way- yes, I saw a Dr Goose!) The theory is that with girls, you produce more hormones because they are female and need you to. Boys, you produce less because they don't need the higher levels of female hormones.  The theory is plausible by the way.

While i have 5 girls, I have had 5 miscarriages, all but 1 were boys, and I had no symptoms with those ones.

Yes, you have me rather confused!  Wish I could find the number for the obgyn I saw on the Gold Coast, he's fantastic with being overly graphic!

What you need to do is stop stressing, take what comes as it comes, and not get ahead of yourself!

Re: Here's something to confuse you all

It's not confusing just confusing to your body. More than likely you are having a miscarriage by what you described. I've been through this type with my 3rd miscarriage. I lost it at 7wks. I had the same thing, heavy bleeding followed by some clots followed by a few days respite, hcg levels dropping, then rising slightly and then dropping again. I had some much blood taken I felt I was attacked by count dracula! This was followed by more bleeding till I totally lost it. If you'd like I have a private group called cherubs, where you can discuss this with others who know exactly what your going through and can help. No one else aside from members can read it and respond. It's a safe place to ask Q's and get A's from people who know and have experienced the sting of loss. I have also written an article called the mind of a miscarriage which I will tag for you. Others have said it's helped them understand that their feelings are normal. I am always available to talk, if you are not comfortable sharing with the group. My story is on cherubs (12 wks, 19wks and 7wks) and is the first one. You are not alone.

I empathize and understand. Let me know if you would like to join the group, I have also included information as a thought of the week, I haven't done one for a couple of weeks as I'm comming of the anti depressants I went on after my 3rd miscarriage and subsequent pregnancy. You may find it useful.

Re: Here's something to confuse you all

I have the same thing, i'm 6 weeks 1 day pregnant and i don't feel pregnant....every now and then i get tingly boobs and feel a bit off but nothing like i did with my other 3........Oh i have severe PMS too lol...I had a very similar thing happen to me with my second pregnancy regarding the bleeding i thought it was my period as 3 pregnancy tests showed up negative, I went to the doctors and his test showed positive so he sent me for a scan... i thought i was only a few weeks along, turned out i was almost 12 weeks pregnant......I had alot of problems with the pregnancy, at 17 weeks i was only the size of a 12 week pregnancy so off i went for a scan again, they found i had a bleed behind the placenta which had most likely caused the period like bleed previously. I was scanned again at 28 weeks to check on the bleed and they couldn't see anything, I'd been having pain my whole pregnancy and just knew something was wrong, but nobody would listen. Sadly my son was stillborn due to a placenta abruption at 38 and a half weeks pregnant. My 28 week scan was sent to another sonographer for a second opinion and there it was picked up that 2 thirds of my placenta was a blood clot, how the first sonographer missed it i really dont know.......I'm not saying anything like this will happen to you but trust your intuition, us women know our bodies better then anyone.

Hope it goes well for you : )

Re: Here's something to confuse you all

This didn't happen to me, however I know what you mean about the feeling of something is wrong.

I had a miscarriage in between my 2 little darlings, I started bleeding at about 6 weeks, and I never really "felt" pregnant, no morning sickness etc, I just felt that something wasn't right with the baby.  I lost it at 9 weeks, and when the docotr told me I cried, but I said to them that I just felt it wasn't right.  This doctor told me that usually the mother knows when something isn't right.  I hope I havn't scared/upset you.

If you feel somthing isn't right keep seeing your doctor.  Maybe it's nothing, but it could be.  I truely hope that everything goes well for you.

All the best and big hugs.

I haven't been through this myself but my old boss has. She had her full blown period while being pregnant and the doctors couldn't work out why. She gave birth to a perfectly healthy baby girl. I hope everything is okay.
