I completely agree with the others. There could be a medical reason as to the why this is happening. I would make an appt and get her seen. Esp. considering it's affecting weight now.

Why can't you give milk or will he just NOT drink it??? I only ask because Jedd has medical feeding issues and we struggle to get him to drink it on his own, if I "help" him, he will do it but not on his own.

We have learned that fortifying milk can be a great way to boost the calories and get more weight gain going. I also know other ways to fortify all sorts of foods.....LOL Jedd requires WAY more calories than the average kid to gain. Just let me know if you want more info on how to do that.

Re: my toddler cannot swallow hard foods

my boy has this problem but now getting better !! was hard to diagnose at the start cause we had a bad dr, then when we got to paedtrition main concern was allergies, then reflux, then when he still was throwing up, his allergy test was coming close so said not to get it checked yet.. he was thinking of sending him to a speach therapist. he is the biggest chatterbox, but just couldnt swallow, but now he has impoved so much that we dont think he needs to go after the allergy test...

It sounds like there may be something wrong here.  At the age of 3, she should be able to tolerate these foods by now.  I would get her checked by a dr, especially since it may be affecting her weight gain.  It could be a chewing issue, reflux or an obstructive issue such as enlarged adenoids or thyroid preventing the food from going down properly.

good luck, xx josie

I would see a doctor over this.  She's quite old to not be able to eat normal foods.  There may be some underlying issue that hasn't been picked up on.  I'm not sure what it could be.  But at least a doctor could give you some ideas.

Good luck.
