Re: I know... I'm a woose
What you experienced with your first baby is a precipitate labour, meaning your baby was born within an hour of the onset of labour. This isn't usually common for a first time delivery though, they are more common with 4 and 5th and more babies. I had one too, my 5th child was in a real hurry to make it into the world, and the ambulance certainly had a race on its hands.
To prepare for this labour, you really need to talk to your medical team about your concerns so they can help you better. Ask them for some information on PreNatal Depression, because I think you might have a touch of it, to be expected considering what your first labour was like.
Start breathing exercises now. Find a breathing rhythm when you do anything around the house, and keep at it. This will prepare you for labour and help to reduce stress levels. make the breathes big, to the point where you feel you will burst before letting it go again.
Try and concentrate on the fact that every labour is different, and things won't be as bad this time round.
Oh, and you could ask for an induction at 38 weeks. That way, the labour will be started in a controlled environment, and you will be better in control.
