Re: Adoption
I know a few people who adopted and they had some hardships along the way and had to do some serious soul searching.
Firstly you need to think about the colour of the baby ie does it matter if you are Asian and the baby is African, what are the waiting times for babies in Australia or whatever country you are looking at. What requirements do you need to have and what do you have to do throughout the whole process. Are you looking for open or closed adoption?
I would suggest you contact Welfare in your state and talk with them about the process and contact an adoption agency to ask them questions about that side.
The people I know adopted their children from Korea and had to spend vast amounts of money to get them here, one couple actually had to spend some time in the country with the child before they would even be considered, then they had to go back home and wait for confirmation and approval then go and pick the child up.
Good luck and remember that children are a gift and need to be treasured no matter who they come from or what part of the planet, some people wont understand why you didnt have your own.
