Getting baby to sleep earlier

Hi all, my 3 month old will go down for her night sleep happily at 7.00pm however the problems start after her first sleep cycle as she will wake and won't settle back down to sleep. This obviously means plenty of crying. I do all that is asked i.e. no eye contact, gentle patting, limited stimulation (lights etc), checking of nappies, for wind etc. Swaddling is difficult as she is in a pavlic harness so I can't wrap her legs nor can I turn her on her side to pat her back. She continues in this way (crying and unsettled) for hours. Any ideas? Please help!

I noticed you didn't mention feeding/nursing the baby when she wakes up during the night.  Is there a reason for this?

I didn't mention it because if she does wake for a feed, she has it, brings her wind up, gets nappy changed then she goes back to sleep without any problems.

Re: Getting baby to sleep earlier

getting into the habit of a good night routine is good right from the start.  She may benefit from going to bed a bit later....   We always from about  3 mths did the bath, bottle bed, routine then a roll over feed at about 11pm.

Also sounds like she is trying to change her routine.  Kids always do this....    Our son who is now 2  always went to bed at about 8pm.   Maybe she just needs a nap at 7pm then bed at say 8.30pm or so.

Unfortunately can't do the full warm bath becuase we can't take the harness off or get it wet so she gets a top to toe wipe down. Pity cause she loves a bath!
