Toilet Training

My son (ages 2 years and 9 months) has recently taken a interest to the potty. At home wih nothing on below, he will go to the toilet evey time and never have an accident. However when I put underpants on, he just keeps going in them. How do I move forward from the nude potty to going to the potty with pants on?

Re: Toilet Training

He may possibly think that wearing pants is a nappy. Try getting him to tell you when he needs to use the potty while wearing pants and then go with him and explain that pants need to come down to use the potty. Maybe for a while , do it for him. He'll soon get the idea.

Re: Toilet Training

on the back of the toilet door, havy at the a  page.. each time he goes toilet in the poty allow him to take a sticker and stick it on the page. it worked miracles for my nieces and nephews.  we also had a timer that went of about every half hour to remind them to check if they need the toilet. positivity and encouragement is the key. praise him for doing right but dont get angry if he has an acccident. He is after all only lreaning and life is busy at that age! good luck
