Thinking of separating from my husband

I hate to sound like I'm digging for money, but fact is, I have to live and keep 3 children alive. How do I find out how much money I can get as a single parent? Do I HAVE to call Centrelink or is there something that will tell me online. Thanks.

/www.centrelink.gov.au/internet/internet.nsf/payments/index.htm If you click on this link then click onto which one applies to you, it should inform you what rates.

But a  appointment with Centerlink themselves would be a better way to go, as there are normally other benefits you might be entitled to, especially when there children involved.,

Here is some of the BEST advice I have ever read about seperation you'll gain so much information out of it including the answer to your question. It's written by a friend of mine Josierm who is also a mother of 3 children (including twins) who recently seperated from her husband.

Practical Tips for Seperation..... What now? (Australia)

You can go onto the centrelink website or call them, but I think your best bet is to make an actual appt with your local centrelink office and go and speak to them face to face.  The ones in the offices usually have more info at hand and give better advice.

Good luck
