Abnormal Bleeding post baby?

Sorry in advance for the nature of this question.

My baby is almost four months old, fully breastfed, and i experienced no complications at all after delivery. I stopped post birth bleeding at 6-7 weeks. But every month since (three times now) i have had a dark brown and little bit of blood period.(about 75% brown) about two weeks ago, i had some pretty bad stomach cramps, went to my GP and took urine and swab with results being fine.

Yesterday I start with the brown discharge again, and today its a bit heavier with blood, and cramping. is this normal or should i be getting a second opinion.

Also they wouldn't so a smear because i had one at beginning of last year that was fine.

Or, is this just my period that is a bit abnormal due to my feeding? Any advice otr experiences would be greatly appreciated.

I used to get similar after the birth of my kids but I was on the pill.

It may be a small period due to your breastfeeding.

I have a rule of thumb with things like this. if 1 doctor says it is fine get a second opinion.
