starting work after kids

I am wanting to go and work now my kids are in school.
I want to know what the likelyhood of it is. I am reduced to hours as I have to pick them up from school, I have no family around to get them. I am limited by health to what I can do due to injury as a child. I have no qualifications as I had my first when I was 18 and I was still studying.
I dont have the money to go and do furthur study.
Does anyone have ideas on what places would take a mother on to work?
Thanks

Re: starting work after kids

Hi,

My name is Steve and I am a stay at home dad. We decided when my wife went back to work after having our son that I would quit my day job and stay home to raise him and my daughter. Why am I telling you this? It's because I started an online business that anyone with a computer can do. I now do this full time and recommend to anyone looking for an alternative and to work from home. Go to www.perfectpartyideas.com and go to the About Us section to read my story. It's sounds to me like this maybe something for you to consider. Flexable hours, no previous training required, and you get to stay at home. You just have to know something about something. I hope this gives you at least one idea.

Steve

Hi there are you an Australian resident?

If you are, have you considered applying for Productivity Placement? This is a government funded program that allows you to study from home or in TAFE in your state that has skill shortages for FREE. Please click the link to see whether you qualify. This is an article I have written myself. I used this program to obtain Cert III in Children's Services, which is a course worth up around $3,000. There are really short courses such as Cert III in aged care which takes about 3 months to complete and you can earn up to $50 an hour for being a personal assistant.

You could try going to centerlink and asking them to sign you up for a Job network? They will pay for things like your license and any courses you would like to do plus clothes for job searching and anything else you might need plus they will match you up with employment opportunities and offer the place incentives to hire you such as a subsidised wage for the employer...

Worth a try? Otherwise there are always jobs at places like woolworths that work around school hours and c leaning jobs in hotels often do too.

Good luck! Everyone starts somewhere :)

Re: starting work after kids

You could look at some of the catologue / parties companies. A friend of mine has just started in Under Cover Wear because of her health. You could look into Intimo, Tupperware and many others. This gives you the flexibility of hours, while still earning a few dollars. The intial outlay is a bit but it can be worth it.

Also there is Avon and other companies who leave catalogues on the door step.

It really depends on what you want to do. Check out the net!

Another I just thought of is secret shopper. My SIL does that to earn a few extra dollars.

Depending on how good (or willing to learn) you are. you could start a ebay store or online store. We are thinking of doing one soon, if you would like any help we will try to help if you want. :)

That one idea anyway, good luck!
