Help someone please within one diaper change Nick has a hole in his butt

and not his pooper. At a distance I told my dh it looks like a blister just put some ointment on it. He was wearing a sposie while I washed our cloth. He has never ever had a reaction to disposables before at least not this brand and this package that is almost gone.

I got closer and it was not a blister but a hole in his skin and it was pretty deep. I am def going to call the ped on Monday, but I need some ideas now.

I didn't put ointment on it because it is deep and it just isn't something you would put ointment on.

Any ideas.

Here is a picture?  I put triple anti-bacterial ointment on it per suggestion of the local pharmaist.  He hasn't eatten anything strange at all, and has no real allergies, and we only wipe his bottom if there is something on it to wipe.  We use cloth so he is changed very often and his diapers have fleece stay dry inners.  We also never use creams unless he has a rash which is basically never.

Just to add to Kathryn, put a bandaid over it to stop further infection and prevention of E coli infectation when you put nappies on, if you've got cloth, try those. It will give it more air and maybe more comfy for your little one!

Also betadine (or anything with iodine, usually bright orange or a burnt orange coloured cream) to help prevent infection.

Re: Help someone please within one diaper change Nick has a hole in his butt

Was it bleeding at all? My DD2 had some pretty deep nappy rash which bled every time she poo'd. In the end it wasnt something from the doctor that dried it up and healed it, it was from an Article on MInti - No More Expensive Nappy Creams I think it was - a solution of bicarb, and not using wet wipes for a while.

Definitely see the doctor, but consider using the bicarb solution and dispensing with the wetwipes today maybe? Perhaps some nappy-free time if that's practical, or a bath with some bicarb in?

Hope that helps.

Re: Help someone please within one diaper change Nick has a hole in his butt

This may sound stupid, but could it be splinter or an insect /insect bite? I have 2 what I think are mozzie bites on my legs that ulcerated, they are pussy and are hole like. It started out really itchy, then blistered and ulcerated. I'm treating with them betadine currently. The one on my left leg has been there for almost 3 wks and the new on on my right leg has been there for 2 wks.
