Re: My 4 year old write backwards
This is much more common in young children than you would think esspecially in left handed children.
I wrote bawckwards for the longest time, as did my little sister both left handed. I worked in a daycare and saw the same thing. You will want to look for it to naturally correct itself at least by 3 rd grade or 9 years old. At that point I would then look into dyslexia a decoding error.
Despite popular belief most dyslexics do not read and write backwards this is a much less common symptom, but it is possible. I developed dyslexia from brain damage encountred as a child around 10 years old. My decoding error is in order. My brain does not see complete words, but rather it sees a bunch of letters and not always in order or spaced properly. Because of this I have had a lot of theraphy in school and have been taught coping mechanisms, and since have been very good at reading for my diagnosis. There is much hope for a child that young. Best of luck, Krista
