Help...

Hi all, i know this is very unexpected but i am proud to announce i am 10 weeks pregnant ! After trying for so long and one miscarriage im treading on thin ice in this first trimester and am up to my neck in stress that the baby and everything will be ok.

I need to know urgently if its ok, at 10 weeks, to have a spa bath, with jets going? I've heard pregnant women should not get into a spa bath for some reason and am not sure on this one?

I would appreciate any and as much advice on this subject as possible, thank you all

Re: Help...

I would not recommend it as the temp in the spa is high and could trigger bleeding. I have a group called cherubs if you would like to join. Hopefully our experiences of having children after miscarriage will help you thru.

Cheers Raven

Re: Help...

I did some research and its not recommended to use a spa bath whilst preggers.

we do know that hot tubs and saunas aren't recommended during pregnancy. Some studies show that a raised body temperature during early pregnancy may increase the risk of birth defects. If you really want to play it safe, avoid the spa bath for now or limit visits to the weeks just before ovulation.

Re: Help...

Hi, I am 15 weeks pregnant and also wanted to find out if I could use our spa at home. I asked when I went to my midwife appointment at 12 weeks and she informed me not to use the spa. The vibrations from the spa is not good for the baby apparently, she said just to have a warm bath  without the jet, but not too hot as the heat is not good for bub either. :)

Re: Help...

It is because of the heat. If you have about 10 mins in there I think its is. Its the same with baths and saunas, its about not letting your body get to hot. Im sure someone else knows the exact temps and times etc.

:) so enjoy in short bursts lol
