Christmas.

When is a good time to start the whole decorating your house, putting up the tree etc?? I know traditionally it is the 12th of December but with the shops and all of that I was wondering when is a good time and not too early?

Re: Christmas.

Every year I get all excited in November and think "Oh, it's too early"...  However December gets so busy we don't get around to it until the last minute.  SO I say, do it when you feel like it and when you have time - don't leave it too late...

Re: Christmas.

This will be the first time we put a Christmas tree up since I was a little kid LOL I feel like a little kid all over again just thinking about it! Raiden will be almost 1 1/2 but he is at the stage where he is learning to run and he opens and reaches for EVERYTHING so I think I will be putting the tree up quite late in December. As much As I want to put it up earlier than that, I don't feel like ruining the tree and decorations just yet!!

Re: Christmas.

Where I live (in Canada) people set up their trees quite a bit earlier sometimes, especially if using an artificial tree.  I typically do it on or around December 1, although I may do it a little earlier this year because we are having a family Christmas party on December 5, plus my 7 year old is REALLY into Christmas this year!

Re: Christmas.

I try to avoid decorating for Christmas, especially if we're not going to be here but I reckon put it up whenever you feel like it and if someone else doen't like it too bad: after all it's your house and you're the one who is going to enjoy it!

Re: Christmas.

We always have put the Tree and Decorations up on the 1st of december and they have being brought down on the 1st of January..

Its really up to personal choice and the shops always get in early so they can make more money etc...

Re: Christmas.

Well, here it's right after Halloween... there are houses with Christmas lights and out door decorations already.  I'm not sure about indoor decorating tho, as I don't decorate for Christmas.
