Is there an ideal season/month to deliver a baby? I would assume that the first few months are very crucial...so is summer, winter or fall the best season to deliver a baby in?(Backdating this would accordingly dictate the ideal month/season to concieve)

All baby are the same
I suppose each person have their own preferences on when they should have a baby, but at the end it depends on you as a parent how to accept and welcome the baby. If only some specific months that a baby should be born, we won't see the beauty of being different. So, before you try to conceive, just try to prepare yourself and think what would happen for the next 9-10 months of your pregnancy....also prepare to be extra patient. I'm sure any baby would be a great baby when you welcome her/him with loving and care. Good luck!
fyi. I had my first baby in December and the second one in April, they both coped with the weather alright.

Spring was good for me
I was lucky to have my baby in May in California which allowed me to be big and cozy warm in sweaters during the winter and going on walks in the sunshine with my stroller... so I suppose it depends on your hemisphere!

Whenever you manage to get pregnant...
Falling pregnant around Christmas happened to me, because it is the time of the year my job tends to be least stressful. I found it annoying to be pretty big during the hottest time of the year. My daughter was born in early October. For the time after she was born, it has been great like this. When she was tiny, I wrapped her up in a sling and went for lots of long walks. She was light enough then for me to do this even 1 week after my C-section, helped me with my recovery and to get back into shape, and it gave her lots of snuggling time, too. The weather wasn't always the best, but we just got one of these fantastic baby carrying coats (no worries about baby being too cold or getting wet) and took an umbrella. I felt like being on holiday! And now the first warm weather coincides with my daughter beginning to crawl, being more independent and not wanting to be carried all the time anymore. Soon the summer will be hers to explore the world. Then again, she will be doomed with rainy Autumn birthdays...

spring chickens - i mean babies

i think springtime is the best time to be birthing babies - you get pregnant early summer and you are really big in the winter - and just as the tulips bloom - you have your perfect little mini you...and your significant other of course

Depends on you
Personally I love getting pregnant a month or two before Christmas, so I miss the heat when I am in my third trimester. However, I love winter. If you are a summer gal, like to bear your tum and you don't like the heat, then go for it. However, if you are thinking about the best time to conceive it is also important to consider 3 months before adopting a really healthy diet, consider reducing coffee intake or completely, reduce alcohol, get off the pill, start taking folic acid and set up some mental relaxation activities like a massage once a week, fortnight or month...some thoughts...good luck

If only it were that easy!
Hi
I would have to say that the best time of year to have a baby is in the Spring - when nature intends us to do so. There are a number of reasons for this:
The pregnancy is likely to be a little more comfortable as you are not huge during the hottest time of the year.
The first few weeks when you are getting used to having a baby don't inspire you to go out and do too much as the weather is just starting to pick up.
When you get more organised, you can get out and about and it's not raining or too hot (note, I'm in the UK, and the above applies to us. You might have to rethink slightly!). It is much nicer for a baby not to be wrapped up too much, and is probably healthier.
Sperm counts are naturally higher when the days are longer. Men's production of sperm is linked to the light levels (Fact or wives tale? Seems to work), which would make more births likely in Spring.
The busiest times on maternity units is Spring and December / January time to reflect the above and also people's summer holidays, so perhaps that is one downside.

Nature has been knocked to one side with people not needing to have the pregnancy out of the way in time for harvest, and with artificial light changing our natural rhythms (in my opinion), and although this isn't a bad thing, it might be worth bearing in mind when trying to conceive. I have to add this, because however much we plan things, our bodies don't always follow suit! I would say aim to conceive in the summer, but bear in mind that even if everything works right (sex at the right time of the month, egg released etc) a person's chance of getting pregnant is still only 1 in 4 each month. I tried for 9 months to fall pregnant with my first, and eventually conceived naturally in June. My sister had told me not to fret because that was when it would happen, and our daughters are a year apart, minus 5 days.
Whenever you think is the best time, go for it, but remember you might just end up being pregnant when your body wants, not when you do! Good luck.
