Try cutting out cow's milk and switch to goat milk. It could be the answer you are looking for!

Rash

QV cream and bath oil.  Expensive but great.

Re: Rash
  • We also use QV cream.
  • But if the eczema gets out of control we then use some eczema from the pharmasist - there is a 0.5% version and a 1% version.
  • We also found that it was being caused largely due to us using soap, so we changed to bath gel that contained no soap (I think it was QV bathing gel).
  • Also our toddlers diet was the issue... it seemed excessive eating of strawberries and kiwi fruit was not good for his skin... led to rash.

Try this product

My son had eczema, and my niece has such bad eczema that she bleeds from scratching. Both of them use "OILATUM" during breakouts. The oilatum is a medicated bath and it also comes in soap.  We find that the Oilatum works wonders. Hope this helps.

Future?
My two year old had quite bad excema when he was a few montsh old, we had prescribed creams and both creams and all sorts form the docs, but I don't know how much difference this made. At the age of about 6 months he seemed to get over it and hasn't had it since. With any luck your baby might grow out of it too - fingers corssed!

Eczema

My daughter suffers from mild but wide-spread eczema, and I use Dream Cream from Lush (http://www.lush.com/), which seems to keep things at bay. It smells pleasant and is easy to apply. I also use it for my son's dribble rash around his chin, and that really helps.

From their website:

Those of us with skin that gives us severe problems sometimes (or all of the time) could spend our lives dreaming of a beautiful, clear, trouble free epidermis. We try many beauty creams and pharmaceuticals, you name it, we've used it, but still our bothersome skin won't behave. Give Dream Cream a try; we get loads of letters about how well it works. Why? Because it is made with every calming plant we can get our hands on: oats have been used on the skin as far back as Celtic times, softening rose water, calming lavender and chamomile, olive oil to moisturize and loads more. The scent sometimes takes a bit of getting used to as it's not your average floral thing, more of a herbal approach.

eczema

My 14 month old son also has eczema. He's had it since 5 months, he unfortunately inherited it from me. The best thing to do is avoid frequent baths. Frequent baths will dry the skin more and make the eczema worse. Also don't take too hot a bath. And always always moisturize. I use Cetaphil lotion all over my son's body twice a day. The cetaphil alone has helped tremendously. I also use over the counter cortaid for severe spots, but use it sparringly as like other medicine it contains steroids. Steroids tend to thin the skin but the skin bounces back when you back off.

Eczema - suggestions
Hi, my daughter broke out with eczema a while back and it was suggested to me to threat it internally. I purchased Omega Care for Kids. It's Omega 3 oils and doesn't have a bad taste. Also I would put oats into a sock and run a bath. Place the oats on the areas that have broken out. Any wheat based creams are good too if you can find them.
