When do you switch from baby formula to milk?

My daughter is now 14 months and is still drinking about 4 bottles a day. She's completely on table foods (3 meals and a small snack every day - she's not fussy & eats very healthy). Is there still and advantage to her drinking formula over milk?

what we did

my sons stopped regular formula and switched to second stage formula at age 22 months. he ate fine, his diet was good and he had no weight problems. the second stage formula has less calories then the yournger fromula and still has the nutrients for eye and brain development wich was important to me. I mix it now for my son age 16 months with regular milk or soy milk becuase it can get pricy in the long run but I did see a difference in my older sons devolpment as in other children his age and am starting to see it in my younger sons as well.. :)

No advantage at all.  The child seems to be getting all her nutrients from her table food. They say that a baby can change to milk as soon as they are 12 months.  This is the time they are able to digest the iron and nutrients properly.  Gradually change them by adding regular full cream milk to their formula, increasing weekly until the child is fully on cows milk. Do this over a month so your baby gets used to the full cream milk.  If any allergies occur, consult your baby health nurse.

Now is fine, but do it gradually
Nutritionally speaking, I agree with the other commenters.  My son is 12 months old and the pediatrician said to go for it (the switch to whole milk).  Our approach has been to make the bottles as a mix of part formula and part milk gradually increasing the amount of whole milk.

Good luck!

Good question
We stopped when we felt confident in his diet. Which was around 14 months. It sounds like your daughter eats a variety of foods and since formula is expensive (at least it is here), I would switch! :)

Well..
If she's a healthy eater, there isn't much of an advantage to formula and there is a potential for creating weight problems. Formula is loaded with calories.

Switch to whole milk at 12 months

Doctors in Israel may advocate different things but here in the U.S. pediatricians recommend whole cow's milk at 12 months. The formula would have more nutrients in general so it is generally better. But since your daughter is already eating 3 healthy meals a day, there is really no need to continue on formula. Plus, if Israel is anything like the U.S., formula is expensive!

My son is 14 months old and eats well also. I give him milk 2x a day, sometimes 3x if he doesn't have other calcium rich foods in the day.
