How many hrs sleep in 24 hrs for your 18mth - 2 yr old?
Wondering how long your toddler sleeps for every 24 hrs?
Our boy is nearly 2 yrs and has a long sleep at night (12.5 hrs) and also an afternoon nap (1.5 hrs).... for a total of 14 hrs in every 24 hrs.
Would be interested in how long your toddler (especially around 2 yrs of age) sleeps for.
My 18 month old son is an awful sleeper and has been right from the start. I get him to sleep around 8pm and he wakes around 6.30-7 in the morning. Mind you this is with 2-4 waking periods in the night. Then he will have between 1 hr to 2 and a half hours in the day. Somedays he goes without a sleep in the day. His days are quite active with his two older siblings to play with. And with all this lack of sleep he is the happiest child. He understands and does everything I ask, eats and drinks all his meals and only ever cries if he has hurt himself. I just wish he could sleep through one night so I could get some sleep.
Fuller sleeps 11-12 hours a night and 2-21/2 hours in the afternoon. When we traveled for 4th of July he reverted back to 2 naps a day, but we didn't mind. We took naps too!
I think he is sleeping well for his age. I believe 13 hours is the average for that age. My girl stopped napping at 18mths. She slept 12 hrs at night. My boy was sleeping around 10 hrs at night and 3 hrs during the day at around 2 years of age.
My daughter Amy goes to bed at about 7:30-8pm she sleeps all the way through until 6:30-7am she then may have a sleep about 10am for an hour then another at 2:30pm for maybe an hour so thats about 13 hours also I don't let her sleep passed 3:30pm as she will not go down in the evening.
Thanks for all the feedback.
Keep it coming if you haven't added your say here yet
Sounds like people range from 11 hrs - 15 hrs for a 24 hr period.
So looks like Codi is on the high side (14-15 hrs) which I suspected. Just wanted to make sure he wasn't outside the "norm".
Alyssa goes to bed at night between 6.30 and 7.30 and wakes at 7.30am. She sleeps again from 10.30'ish till 12.30'ish. From what I've read 12-14 hours is the norm. she just had her check up on monday where the nurse said the same. From my experience with Luke, they simply just drop that sleep of their own accord.
"They" say that a kid that age should get somewhere between 11 and 13 or 14 hours of sleep in 24 hours. My son gets the bare minimum, at about 11 hours. He'll sleep about 8 or 9 hours at night and takes one nap in the day that is *usually* 2 hours.
My son (23 months) sleeps 12 hours at night, usually 8-8, or 9-9, depending on his nap. He naps for 2-3 hours in the afternoon. He is incrediably active. Sometimes he skips the nap, but will go to sleep an hour or so earlier then.
my nearlt two year old and my 3 year old all sleep from 6.30pm in the evening to 6.30 am then have a 2 sometimes 3 hour sleep ithe afternoon, it depends how active they have been
Mia around 2 was sleeping 12 hours through the night and 3-4 hours in the afternoon on a non day care day. On a day care day she would only have approx 40min in the afternoon. Now at 2 and 7 months she still sleeps 12 hours through the night and 2-3 hours in the afternoon for a non day care day.
