Double, tandem or two single buggies?

My brother and his fiance are expecting their second child in November and they already have a daughter who will then be 2, at the moment they are looking at buggies ( as my neice is not too keen on walking!) First they looked at tandems (one in front of other) then they looked at doubles (side by side) then I had an idea, they already have a single buggy that was from birth so why don't they buy the same one again and fix them together with these clips I had seen on T.V but for the life of me I can't find them, so here is what I want advice on; 1. What would be the best kind of buggy? 2. Do these clips have a brand name? 3. Where can you buy them? If you can help I would be grateful.

tandems
my vote goes to tandems as you can go to more places and fit through smaller gaps, i've alway's found especially at shopping centres you cannot fit the double sided prams through many entries, but thats here in australia i'm not sure were your from

prams
im havin the same problems, buying the perfect pram. im due in 7 weeks and my daughter will be nearly 3. i can suggest buying a toddler seat,  they fit most jogger prams or larger prams. u can but the up to 20 kilo ones for about $100 at pram shops. or up to 15 kilos seats u can get from target or k mart. keep in mind the heavier ones u need a sterdier pram. (alot of prams are only up2 17 kilos) u can take the toddler seat off wen no itn use

Phil and Ted's E3

I'm a mom of three 6,4,1.  I love my E3.  It is the only thing I wanted or needed for baby #3.  I think the basic model would make the best first baby gift and the add the other seat.

My Girls also love it.  don't tell anyone but at christmas i put all three of them in it.  I had the 6 year old hold the baby and I pushed them throught the mall.

Double prams

I have to say that the best invention EVER is the Phil and Ted E3

http://www.philandteds.com/cat.htm

Look one up. It is a single and a double, for one baby and a toddler or two toddlers, depending on how you arrange the seats. I have had one for about 8 months now, and just wish I had known about the when I had my first because it is equally good as a single or a double. Basically, it is a single three-wheeler but instead of  side-by-side or one in front, it is more like a double decker. Because of this, it is still easy to take shopping, fits through all doors that a single would and is really manoeuverable. I love mine, as do all my friends who have one.

The one doubt that people have when they see one is whether the child below will be happy there. The answer is yes - they can still see out, feel like they are in a go-kart, and can easily see the person pushing.

They aren't the cheapest but for a double I would say without doubt the best! (Advert over, no comission made, unfortunately!)

No Experience
Hello,  I have had no experience as I only have 1 child but a good friend of mine bought a double when she had her second baby and has only used it a handful of times.  It is heavy and doesn't fit through doors.  She finds it a big pain.  Another friend of mine bought a skate board device to attach to her pram for the oldest child.  This seemed to work really well the older child found it to be lots of fun and they could get on and off as they pleased but still didn't have to walk alot.

Buggies
I have tried the side by side fold up ones and I didn't like them at all.  They dont fit in doorways, elevators or into stores.  My neighbor has one the children are one in front of the other one and she seems to travel just fine with her two kids.  Another idea is one of those strollers that you  can attach to your bicycle.  My sister has one and it works great.  It isn't much bigger then a regular stroller. The kids sit in the same seat and there are two seat belts and there is also a plastic covers for those gross rainny days.  I think my sisters stroller is called Chariot, just in case you are interested.  I am sure there are differnet brand names out there, but that is just one.
