The Body shop and, Villa and Hut have agreat range of body butters. My Fav are the vanilla ones. You could also use plain sorbolene and add your own essential oils.

Here is a recipe for an oil rub. I used this every day before putting on a moisturiser.            30ml almond oil, 15ml wheatgerm oil , 10 drops borage seed oil , 5 drops carrot oil.      Shake the oils together before use. You can also add essential oils to this mixture but not more than 15- 18 drops. This is a great blend for stretch marks, not neccessarily preventing them but certainly reduces the severity and discomfort associated with them.

some uncommon oils to avoid
There are a few which are, anise, basil, camphor, carraway, carrot, cedrwood, cinamen, clove, cypress, fennel, hyssop and jasmine which are not as commonly used but can be in fragrant soaps, creams and other products. rose is to be avoided in the first three months ,along with camomile ,frankensense, geranium and melissa.they arent very well known but can affect different people in different ways.I know some of this information because my husband was heavily into aromatherapy after my first child.hope this helped

some uncommon oils to avoid

not being rude, but why chamomile, frankincense and cedarwood? I used these three oils when i was pregnant all the time and it is a little scary to think they may have been dangerous. I can understand some of the others because they can create excess heat. I know that rose should be avoided being applied for the entire pregnancy. I have done a course in aromatherapy and my job in the past was selling the products of two essential oil companies. I am always looking out for new info. Thanks

Which essential oils to avoid during pregnancy.

Some people suggest that you should avoid applying all essential oils to the body during pregnancy. Here follows a list that you should  avoid applying during pregnacy but can be great during labour. You can use these in  a vapouriser but i always stayed away from them.

Rose, rose geranium, rosemary, clary sage, lavender(though you can burn this) , juniper and patchouli (unless you have oedema) , palma rose, ylang ylang, .

These can all be used during labour but only a selection of three.  My favourite combination was Neroli, to alleviate fear, and rose for anxiety, stress etc. and helps with labour pains. I also have an excellent recipee for a drink during labour if your interested.
