pregnancy tests showing neg and pos, what should i do?

I have done a number of pregnancy tests in the last few days and the first ones were pos, these were done on an early testing kit, the lines were very faint an I was worried I had imagined it. I then did another one which came back neg. I went to the chemist and he did one which he said was neg but when i looked at it at home I could see a very faint line as could my husband and neighbour. The chemist said that as I had a pos test before then i should see my doc as I had been pregnant but no longer was and may need medical intervention. I am besides myself, I want to do another test but cant bring myself to incase it is neg again. any advice would be gratefully recieved!

blood test
i know needles are scary but the pregnency blood test is the only trustworthy one. i have been pregnant three times and only one urine test showed it clearly and that was overseas the doctor can advise the best if pregnant or misscarried

been there done that
I know what you mean ,i had a friend who did a test and the one line was very pink, and the second line was very faint.I think there is a hotline number on the back of packs of preg tests that you can ring and any info you need or something you are not sure of they will have the answer. But i really would go to the doctors for a better idea. I had mine at the hospital recently because i was 4 weeks late and sick. but im not preg just stressed.

see your ob/gyn

Pregnancy tests are usually positive no matter how faint the line is. I used a pregnancy test within 10 days of conception and the line was very very faint. So I waited a couple of more days and tested again, that time, the line was clearer.   Since you already got a positive result, it may be better to go ahead and see your OB/GYN. They may do a blood test, in which case, you'll be sure whether you are or aren't pregnant.

I didn't think you could get a false positive
Firstly, I always think it is better to KNOW the worse and deal with it that IMAGINE the worse and worry about it.  Go to your doctor and ask for a blood test.  I was of the understanding that you cannot get a false positive on tests though, I believe it says it in the instructions.  When I was trying to get pregnant I was doing all these tests every month as soon as possible unable to wait and see if my period came and they were always negative (it took us 8 months), I even kept the stick for hours and kept checking them incase it took longer than it was supposed to as it would only be a week or so (it says not to do that in the instructions) but it never came up with a phantom positve.  When I found out I was pregnant I was exactly 19 days pregnant.  My period should have come the day before.  I went to my friends house and she happened to have an old test & I took it there, the line was sooooo faint that I thought I had wished it there.  I had to take my pee on a stick to my friend (NOW it seems embarresing) to see if she could see it too, and she could, and that was it I was pregnant.  If they are showing negative now then perhaps the Pharmacist is right, and really if you are not passing anything getting a curett sooner rather than later can help you avoid any infections you may get and it also helps you get pregnant easier after you've had one, (it's a uterous spring clean).

If you have lost a baby my sympathies are truely with you, how ever the positive side is that you have proven that you CAN conceive.  Your body usually rejects early fetus's for a very good reason, there was probably something not quite right about this one & your body did what it is designed to do.  But you can try again and next time chances are everything will be wonderfully perfect for you and you'll be vomitting and nausious before you know it haha.

Sweetie, you really do need to go to your doctor.  deal with facts, don't worry about maybe's.  I wish you the best of luck, you never know the doctor's test might find that you are after all.  You need to find out for sure.  Good Luck
