Fussy drinkers

Hi all. My 3 year old is very fussy in what she drinks. She'll only drink water while she's at kindy as that is what i give her in her drinking bottle, but when she's at home, she wants what she can't have like anything fizzy, or cordial. I don't like to give her fizzy as the sugar content in it, and i think cordial isn't quite as bad with the sugar etc, and occassionally she'll drink like orange, apple, mango juice. What should i do? Thanks heaps in advance to everyone who replies.

It seems to be a common theme.  I would suggest 50/50 water and fruit juice or very weak cordial, if the colour is there they seem to accept it.  They do eventually change.  Once mine went to kinda and now prep water is all they can take so they accept it and drink water all day and then consider it a treat to have cordial with dinner and I found they now even accept water at home so sticl with it, the fad will wear out and water will win over them.

My son only wants to drink whatever mom and dad are having.  We trick him by filling his cup with 3/4 water and then make sure he sees us pour what we have into the top of the cup.  It does the trick.  Good luck.

Try the diet cordials and soft drink, most of them have minimal sugar. I let my son have 1glass of soft drink with his dinner through the week and with his lunch on the weekends.

My son was the same way.He did not like water at all.But when we were at his Godparents house he drank water only because he liked to get his own water from the machine.I guess it made him feel like a big man getting his own beverage.

Have you tried pure juice? I know it can be a bit strong so for Amy I do 50/50 juice and water she actually prefers this to squash (cordial).

My kids drink mainly water, but I do buy sugarless cordial and as for the fizzy, you can get 100% juice fizzy drinks, or even flavoured fizzy spring water.

Maybe you should try to add a few drops of food coloring to her water and she will think it is a fizzy.
