Re: homeschooling?

Hi,

How are you today? I glad to here that you want to homeschool.

I think that's  great, you want to spend more time with your children!!

To  get started, you should check with your state laws, about homeschooling.

That is What I did first!  I hope this help!  Take care!  Glenda51

I homeschooled my daughter for Gr 10.  Just for convenience and because we couldn't find a school we liked.  It was the greatest year ever!   We both loved it.  It's flexible and easy.  She was an honor student going in and came out still with honors.  She did go back to a regular high school for Grade 11 and all was good.  We are now contemplating finishing off Grade 12 as homeschool as we're finding her school very frustrating (it's not a good school), so rather than transfer her somewhere else, we know homeschooling is great, we may just go that route.
I'm in Canada, but I'm sure it's much the same everywhere.

All the moms I talked to -there are interenet groups for the homeschool you choose, were impressed with how well their kids did  - it is an incredible experience.  We saw and did more that year than any school could have done.

homeschooling?

For general information I would suggest doing a google search and see what you can find.  There are loads of US sites that comes up which may or may not be of use to you, there are also many christian and religious sites that provide home schooling support and programmes.  For the main part it is trawling through and looking for the programme that suits you.  I waslooking into it for a while as we were going to be living in an area with no schools.  But now that we are near some good schools I have shelved the idea.

On the other hand my brother and his wife are going to home school their kids.  The main advantage I see is that it is flexible, that the home routine does not need to change; You can wake up and go to bed when you like as long as it is a routine within your family - other than that it is hard work but it is flexible.  This is a major advantage I think.  And as long as there is social interaction with other children their age on a regular basis they are unlikely to suffer.

You do what works for you.  Good luck.
Peace
