NOT Just Morning Sickness!

Hi! In planning for bubby number two I am hoping to avoid the horror of pregnancy number one! I threw up and up and up for nine months. I was hospitalised for dehydration five times, and I am terrified about how I am going to cope, and how my son will cope, should it happen again. It's formal name is Hyperemesis Gravidarum, and I heard ages ago that someone took cortisone for three days early on, on the advice of her dr and it stopped it dead in it's tracks.... has anyone heard anything similar??

Hi their I had the same thing with my first child 3 years on and i'm about to have my second child any week now, i found that by cutting out alot of the fatty and oily foods worked for me i also drank lots of water i have barly thrown up this time round. certin foods can also cause you to feel sick, so this time round i stayed away from them at plenty of salads and fruit and veg, i found oranges were good when i felt like i was going to be  sick.

I dont want to be a bad news bearer!  But, I had morning sickness with all three pregnancys. I was also hospitalized, I tried every natural remedy that anyone told me!  Finally my dr put me on a medication that they give to Chemotherapy patients.  The first one did not work but the second one did.  It was called REGLAN.  I had no side effects.  I still got sick in the morning, but not all day!  I usually took the meds after I woke up.  I have heard that most people only get morning sickness with one of their pregnancys. I only know of one other person who like me had been sick with more than one pregnancy.  Its not easy but it is so worth it when at the end of the 40 weeks you have a new baby!  And then the morning sickness vanishes! LOL.  Good luck, if you need any of the home remedies that people told me I will gladly pass them on.

Wow you poor darling, it may or may not happen with bubby no 2 ( for your sake i hope it doesn't) but i would stick close to your Dr and let him know what happened the first time round he may monitor you more closely or advise you of something to take. Good luck.
