Manly Shmanly......  My brother is like that, his partner does the cleaning but he does most of the cooking.  Nothing does it for me more when my hubby does housework for me without asking him too.  Its the leg crossing that puts me off???

not only can I sew on a button, so can my husband, our 3 daughters, and our 11 yr. old son. I don not own a sewing machine, so anything I make is done by hand! Example I made capes for my daughters for Christmas this year, it took 3 weeks of hand sewing, but they love them!

Yes your right its doses sound silly  ,but theres  alot of poeple  who would have no idea how .Like alot of things  the most simples things to do are gone ,from making a bed to cooking a basic meal for yourself  .As time goes on and both presents working they dont put time in showing kids theses things.

But to answer your question yes i know to sew a buttn on

I can sew on a button.  I don't know if I do it "correctly", but the buttons don't come off and they look reasonably neat.

Mind you, that's about the only sewing I can do!

Yes I can sew buttons on But after saying that because I am sooooo domestically challenged these days hehe I have also taught my 16 year old  two 13 year olds and my 12 year old how to do their own hehe. So now If I am running around with all the other kids as well they are able to do thier own hehe
Cheers
Angie

Yes
Yes I know how. Then again I can also dressmake, alter patterns and resize them for my ummm unique shape (scoliosis).  I always thought that learning to sew was a skill all mothers taught their children. Only found out very recently that I am actually in the minority.

Norby you are my hero!!
I can sew but I hate it so much....I have blown up 2 sewing machines and that was after they ate my needles constantly, I made a great outfit for my daughter and thought that I was it and a bit, then tried to make something for me and well, yeah, I wont go there but I will tell you that it would have fitted me if my crutch was around my ankles......
