Good Grief!
What are the doctors playing at.
I would definitely request a referal for a gynacologist. You can usually ring them and make the appointment- then go to a dr and say you are going to see so-and-so and please provide a referal letter - sounds crazy but I've done it before and so have my friends - ring a Gyno and ask the receptionist if you are unsure.
Id imagine there would have to be some kind of hormonal imbalance? I guess it would play havoc with any attempts to fall pregnant!
Good Luck (((((((Hugs)))))))

Hi there, I agree with Tadxpress go see a specialist......and do not stop till you get an answer you are happy with.Sometimes we have to be quite firm and make a stand. We have a tendency to get overwhelmed by drs lawyers etc, they are like every other service or item we pay for.......if we are not happy we keep going back or returning(items) till we are!!!! Good luck regards Merle

GP's are good at their jobs but are not specialists get a referal to an ObGyn and have everything thoroughly checked out. I didnt breastfeed my last three either but I was able to fall pregnant 15 months apart whilst still having a milky discharge.

My cycles have never been regular.  I might go 6-8 months without a period and then have 2 within the space of a month.  When I saw a gynaecologist, he put me on a fertility drug called " Clomid" that regulated my cycles.  He was uncertain as to why my cycles were so irregular, he said it may have something to do with my active lifestyle.  I had a few tests later on as I was trying to fall pregnant and found out  that both my tubes were blocked, which was also a contributing factor.    I ended up having IVF and after my first child, my periods were regular for about 5 months, which was strange for me, bot now they are back to their normal irregularity.

How old are you matey?

I stopped menstruating 3 years ago and have been lactating for like 5 or 6 years on and off. I have been to the doctors who did some tests on me, such as hormone levels and so on and all came back fine. In fact all came back like I shouldn't be doing either but I am.

My doctor did tell me that I had probably stopped menstruating due the the stress of my husband dying and that teams up pretty well considering they stopped right after his death. The lactating well, I have to have a needle/camera inserted inside my milk duct to see whats going on as there is a slight bloodish discolor to it.

Stress can do some pretty horrid things to you and your body. Periods are normally one of the first things to be affected too. Hormones can also play up just because they can...so it could be a number of things.

I haven't had it explained to me either and I am only having this thing with the camera because I demanded it. When I haven't had a baby in 18 years and I'm lactating and then it turns bloodish, I dam well wanna know why. Maybe you need to, not ask ,TELL your GP to refer you to a specialist who can help you.

But for what it is worth, you are not alone.....cheers matey and good luck!

Thank for your thoughts, i know i should tell the doctor what he should be doing, it is so hard as i live in the bush and the doctors are hard to get into and there is always so much you have to ask. I told my husband that the next time i go i will pretty much demand to be reffered to a specialist. I am scared of the what ifs so thank you.
