In all my years of dealing with babies and children in general there is no set age for them to start teething be they male or female.  My son not only cross cut his all his teeth but he was late starting and he took a long time to get all his teeth.  He also suffered very badly with middle ear infection every time he was cutting teeth and no amount of panadol elixir or bongela seemed to help him but he now has beautiful healthy teeth and nice big white ones now and at the age of 23 he is just cut one of his wisdom teeth  and having trouble with the rest of them - the two bottom ones are compounded and he has to have them taken out.  On the other hand I have a grandson who is only 20 months old and he already has all his teeth including his 2year old teeth.  He has cut them from 4 weeks and had not much trouble at all and the panadol elixir and bongela worked well with him.  I feel it just depends on the child, their make up and I also believe it depends upon what baggage they have brought over from another lifetime to work out this lifetime.

my son got his first at 6 weeks but than it dissappeared and did not come back till he was 13 weeks old he used to love the frozen icey poles unoppened but you just have to make sure they have no sharp edges frozen teething rings do the same trick and they are easier but as he got older i got the natural icey poles and let him chomp away at them

The comments below are right.  Chidren can get teeth at any age.  I have been told that if your child's teeth come later they tend to be healthier.  I am not sure how true that is though.

no, babies can start to teeth at any age (some are born with teeeth), my Daughter got her first tooth at 3 months, if your little one is only young too, i suggest baby panodal it is brilliant, helps with the discomfort and also Bonjela is great, put a dab on your finger adn rub it on the effected area, if bub can hold things in his hands, rusks and a wet washer also helps just for in between, it is rough because you don't want them to be in any pain, but i found that panodal adn bonjela were brilliant for my little girl at relieving the pain, good luck and i hope this has helped
