Gripe Water

Has anyone given their bubs this? I just gave it to my babe (as advised by GP) and he's swingin' from the chandeliers at bed time. Totally hyper! He spat 90% of it out, mind. And hasn't poohed. :(

I've actually used some stuff recommended by the pharmacist called "Infant's Friend". I found it's worked very well for everything from wind, colic and reflux to even helping with teething pain.

I too used infacol and found it helped but not much. I eventually discovered that choclate when i ate it (breastfed) gave him very painful wind. As a chocholic i ate it daily (in very small amounts), but no matter how much it set him off. So maybe it could be something you are eating if breastfeeding. Careful when trying new medicines my son was veyr alergic to Infants Friend which was also a wind helper.

Hi there,  I also gave my son gripe water but I found Infacol worked faster and tasted better.  To get your bub to poop have you tried moving his legs in a cycling pattern,  I found this helped my boy especially after a warm bath when he was nice and relaxed.  Goodluck

Yes I did give it to my two boys who are now 6 and 4. I never had this problem when I gave them the gripe water. Anyway mom you can try infacol. But consult your GP first.

I don't think gripe water is suspose to help make a baby pooh.. i thought it's suspose to help with hiccuping and that.. maybe i could be wrong but that's what i thought it was for. there is something to help your baby pooh, but i would talk to your doctor about it. i will have to find the name of it and give you it, but i had to go the the childerns hosptial when my daughter wouldn't poo for a whole day.

you may find it better to give it to bub in the morning and in a bottle diluted with more water
