Hi My husband had a vasectomy 6 months after the birth of our third child. He hasn't had any regrets. Quite a few of our friends have had them and all have had different experiences. Hubby tried to do too much three days after so had to end up having a full week off work. Take it easy and rest and it should be fine. Cheers

Hi there

I have just asked my hubby cause he had one almost 4 years ago. He had it done in day surgery without anesthetic because the doctor told him general you were in for a night and local was in for 6 hours. There was no counselling involved in his vasectomy because of the reason behind it. Sometimes through the public system they have a criteria you have to fit into like age and number of children etc.... But I am sure with most vasectomy he would have to do counselling. Hubby recommends it for sure as long as you are positive there is no chance of any more children being wanted
Cheers
Angie

Absolutely the way to go if you and your partner are 110% certain you do not want any more children. My hubby had it done 2 weeks before our last child was born (he was hopeful, lol). Our reason, i had 9 months of 24/7 troubles during my pregnancy and we were not taking the risk again and as i am under 30 doctors would not tie my tubes. The op was smooth sailing and 3 days after he was back at work.

I should have added that hubby had the procedure done at the local hospital. Was in and out within 45 minutes and didnt cost a cent.

My partner had one almost 10 years ago.  He regrets it sometimes as nowdays he would like to have more children but he can't.  He would recommend it to anyone that is absolutely positive that they never want any more children no matter what happens.  A vasectomy is very difficult to reverse, so it really needs to be thought through thoroughly.  He recommends some good professional councelling about it before having it done.

my husband had to have one cause of my blood clotting and blood disorder i cannot have surgery and boy was he scared?but i was there with consultation and his doc was fantastic

all went so well no side affects playing top footy 1 week later that was 2 years ago and all is fine

the younger you are the better off you are thats what they say, my husband doc was in tas i would recommend him but i am sure in your area you will find one

my husbands went so well that after its done you have to take 3 sperm samples in to be tested and he had to only take 1 in thats how well it worked on him

if they ask you weather you will pay for it(which will be done asap)or go thru the hospital which is for free that could take mths even years depends how many opt for hospital and going by how our health system is at the moment it could take even longer

it didn't cost much i think ours was around 200

anyway goodluck and i recommend it and it will be all fine

Go for it, the drs do a bit of counselling to find out if that's what you really want, but I thank god for vasectomies lol. My exhusband had one, it was the best move we ever made. Ask your GP, he/she  will give you all the pros and cons ab out it but I think they are great. And after all, men do play a part in pregnancies so they should play their part in contraception if they are happy to do it that way. good luck

I heard that it's alot easier for a man to get a vasectomy then a woman getting her tubes tied. Since its only snip snip for a man and its major surgery for a woman. But in the end, it's all your decision on what you want to do.

Maybe a condom might help with preventing further pregnancies, but if that is not in your cards, then vascetomy is the way to go.
