I thought i was pregnant so i told my partner that and he went to the chemist  to get a preg kit for me,  and he was so excited in the possibility that he could be a dad. We were going to family funtion and i didnt reallly have time to do it as i had to pick up my parents and family. He couldnt wait so he told me to pee in the jar and take it with us. So i tested it while going to pick up my parents and sure enough i said yep and he nearly killed us he almost ran off the road. Once i got to my mums and dads i gave my had a hug and said granddad he look at me ans said dad no granddad. Jumping for joy have u told ur mum, so i did the same thing as she walked into the lounge hi there nan lol. It was a laugh. Congrats to you and there is so many ways you can tell family which ever the way u do it will be ok.

My husband and I were married in Australia and my family lives in the US. So my mom, grandparents and aunt were on a conference call so that they could listen in on the ceremony. Afterwards I announced to them that I was 6 weeks pregnant with our first child.

we took the positive pregnancy test to a christmas party with close friends and family.  as each person arrived, we asked if we could take a picture with them and right before someone snapped the shot, we told them we wanted to give them something and handed them the pregnancy test.  since we were newly married, no one expected us to be pregnant, so we captured the shock and surprise on every face!  after the first pic, that guest agreed to help us surprise all the subsequent guests by taking the pic, so we have a whole series of shots of our dear ones--the very second they realized we were pregnant.

the pictures are still a fun memory for us.  we were really excited to be having a baby (having married in our late 20's) so the whole thing is a very happy thing to recall 9 years later!

I told my now husband first, and said you know how you wanted to have kids, well, etc. We weren't married yet, but a baby is a baby. No matter what the situation they are a blessing and a gift from god. Then we told parents, you know how you wanted grandkids? And at the time my dad was begging my mom to have another baby, they are 47, or adopt, she said no. So my dad was thrilled. Congrats to you!!!!!!!

i remember with my first pregnancy i was only 17 so i was crapping myself telling my mum so i handed her my cousins negative pregnancy test first and then went no sorry this is mine ,looking back now i probably nearly gave her a stroke i learnt that lesson well, then when i found out i was pregnant with the twins i was just about to go under for emergency surgery as i had past out in the toilet at the hospital from internal bleeding. they did bllod tests asap and told me i was pregnant but would lose the baby and my ovary as they thought it was ectopic, i remember them putting the mask on me and i was sobbing, when i woke up i remember the doctor telling me that all was well and that it was a burst cyst on my ovary that caused the internal bleeding and that i was still pregnant but he didnt know for how long because of the drastic surgery,

when i came round from surgery i remember slurring to my mum that the baby was fine (forgetting that she didnt even know what the doctor had told me), 3 weeks later i had a scan and my man and i walked into mum and i wanted to slyly tell her that i just found out i was pregnant with twins so when she said how is the baby , i said that oh all is gpoing well and they are thriving. i had to repeat it twice as she said oh the baby is well thank god so i said again , yes they are very lucky to be alive. she finally realised what i was saying and therre was plenty of jumping and sqealing to be had.

With all 3 of mine I rang my mum and just about screamed the news down the phone and then did the same with my sister, we are a pretty excitable bunch.  With my hubby I did home pregnancy tests and handed him the test, he got the shock of his life all 3 times!!

By pure coincidence I was almost 12 weeks when my FIL had a b'day and it was also mothers day so we rang them. My MIL told us later that her boss rang almost straight after and started giving my MIL instructions for work and my MIL said "Can you ring me back later I just found out I'm going to be a grandmother" and promptly hung up.

With my second I was 12 weeks at x-mas so we gave my in laws a x-mas card from our first that had a note inside.

Dear gran and poppy can you please look after me for one night in about July so my Daddy can take my mummy to hospital to have my baby brother or sister.

With the rest of my family we just told them outright as I wasn't expectiong a very positive reaction from any of them.

With my first and only I took a picture of the home preg test on my mobile and sent it to my mum (dad didn't have a mobile). She rang me and said 'Is this what i think it is'?. She was chuffed and showed everyone at bsketball (where she was at the time). I had to laugh at the thought of her showing my preg test around.

with my last baby, it was my 4th, well 3rd but i have a step son, so baby made 4, and i had just found out, and i rang my dad up first out of the blue, and my exact words were 'hi dad im pregnant.' i could see him shaking his head in my mind and he sighed and said, 'oh simone when are you gonna learn?' it was all tongue in cheek, and by the end of the phone call i could tell he was over the moon and couldnt wait to meet his new grand baby.

with my fist baby though, i was only 17, and hadnt spoken to my parents for a few months due to a falling out, and one night i asked them if i could go to their place for dinner. they knew something fishy was going on because the week before i couldnt stand them, so after dinner i pulled out my ultrasound pic (which was only a dot at that stage i think i was about 8wks along) and said well.... heres your new grandchild. mum was shocked and had tears in her eyes, but for the first time in a very long time she hugged me and told me she was happy for me, and said she would do what ever it took to support me.

my husband were lucky we found out just befors xmas with all of our children, and we have 3.So with our first, we wrote on the gift tag to nana and granddad. With our second we told them xmas eve, and our third one we were in shock, and we just blirted it out to the whole family on xmas day.

A just showed my first ultrasound picture to my parents and asked them what they could see.... :)
